In Memoriam...  Harry L. Wallace, LC00037, August 31, 2005

Harry L Wallace, National Life Charter Member 00037, Maryland Chapter 33, has reported for his final muster, no longer present, but fully accounted for. He passed away on August 31, 2005.

Harry was the 2nd Vice President and Membership Chairman of Korean War Veterans Association, Inc. from 1988 to 1990. Past National President Dick Adams observes that “Harry will be missed.”

All of the members join the family in remembering and honoring this veteran of the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. There will be a military funeral next week.

The following note of tribute to his dear friend was received from Jack Cloman (LC00006), Maryland Chapter 33...

We received word from Chaplain Ed Ilgenfritz when he went to visit Harry Wallace in the hospital he found out that Harry had been discharged. In checking further with his son & family he found out that he passed away on Wednesday, 31 August.

Harry was #37 of the 39 original members establishing the Korean War Veterans Association. He was the 2nd Vice-President in the National Association serving under Presidents Dick Adams and Nick Pappas. He served as Membership Chairman and Reunion Co-Chairman in the 1980's and early 1990's,. Harry was a Charter Member of our Maryland Chapter #33, one of the six to form the chapter in 1990.

Harry will be at the Duda-Ruck Funeral Home located on Wise Avenue in Dundalk on Wednesday, 7 September. Viewing hours are 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Should we receive further information we will let you know.

Update (9/4): The Chapter will conduct a Veterans Memorial Service for Charter Member Harry L. Wallace, Jr., on 7 September 2005 at 8 PM at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Ave., Dundalk, MD.

A Catholic Prayer Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Thursday, 8 September at 9 AM, followed by interment at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
