I am bringing you this UPDATE as I am traveling. So far as I am concerned, the biggest news this year for the KWVA, is the Annual Convention just concluded in Knoxville, Tennessee. Information from the Convention has begun appearing in several places—the Ad Hoc discussion group on YAHOO, in regular email among members, in The Graybeards issue now being published, and other correspondence. President Jim Ferris, Department of New York, has prepared a report for that Department which I will include in this update, with some changes, to help to bring our members and friends up-to-date. Before closing with President Ferris’ report, I want to thank the Reunion Committees (I say “committees” by way of including the work of the previous Reunion Committee from whom we picked up the reins in late July) for the great Convention which they staged for us. Special appreciation is due Byron Dickerson who was in charge, and Don Byers who managed another great Convention Hospitality Room. Most of all, praises for, and appreciation to, each of the members and guests who attended.
