Members, Veterans and Friends...

President Obama signed into Public Law the Korean War Veterans Recognition Act passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate at 6:00 pm on July 27, 2009.

The flag will now be flown at half-mast on each July 27th in remembrance of those veterans who sacrificed their lives in the Korean War. This act was begun by a Korean American young lady named Hannah Kim and was pushed through the congress when she, with her many Korean American friends, walked the halls of congress and the many veterans who wrote their representatives to vote for the act. The KWVA, Inc. was very active in this process and we Thank especially the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, Charles B. Rangel and Congressman Sam Johnson both Korean War Veterans as well as the other Korean War Veterans Association Members.
